I've just begun a much needed update of product photos. As time goes on, these improve, but gosh they are a lot of work. So I am spacing it out over the next few weeks instead of doing it all at once. I like how using my hand in some shots adds a relative size aspect.
Time to get back to work getting a few packages ready for the post office. I'm making some notebooks from my new patterns that are turning out amazing. FUNctional indeed.

The blog looks great!
Wow, your hand in the image definitely puts it into perspective! And the photo looks great. I was just reading up on ways to improve my product photography today. It's hard work!
Really amazing how much work photos are. I love this one on your blog.
Thanks guys! Photos and the way you present the actual item for sale are so important to the buyer, that we'd be silly not to put more time into it. Seeing other shops or blogs with great pics, I think most people assume it's because of fancy equipment, which is not the case 99% of the time. Okay, this comment is longer than my blog post, so I think I'll have to do a more in depth blog post on this subject soon:)
i agree, they take forever!
yours are looking beautiful. love your packaging :)
Thank you Gretchen, it's always evolving!
yes! very much agreed on photos. the styling, editing -- yours look great. i use the same method for my tiny items -- the hand showing for size perspective. it's encouraging to see a fellow creator do the same!
Cute blog!
