Etsy front page! Treasury by yours truly craftyFOLK.

Well well well, was I surprised when I find my treasury to be
on the front page this evening! I sat down with a cup of tea
and voila...front page. It's my first time so i'm quite puffered
up (make up word - puffered - i think) Anywho, exciting...
I'm happy for all the featured items that get better traffic and whatnot,
but in all honesty I'd be more excited for MY item to be up there!
Ha!

**UPDATE** A few days after I posted this one of my pillows made it to the front page, I was so excited. I didn't get to see it in real time, but still grateful!

Later gators,
Sarah

poster for the The Funky Church

I designed this for The Funky Church gig on September 13th with The Battle of Land and Sea, Alina Simone, Jacob Golden & Down South Sallie. For the sake of full disclosure I am part of the first band, so I didn't get paid well for my design (aka FREE) but
from the band's perspective, we got one hell of a poster for nada.
Love it.

first tiny house plushie

This is my first tiny house plushie. I love the
Holly Hobbie vibe of it. It's up in the shop as
of now. I plan to make a whole village, I would've
loved these as a kid to play dolls with. You could hang
them on the wall or have them on a bed or couch.
I had this one on a shelf above my work station as inspiration.

Today has been a bit of a slow burning day, i've yet to get out of my
pajamas and it's 5:42pm. Sometimes I get more done in my
pj's in a whole day than most people in suits, so I don't feel too bad.

I have oodles of ideas and noodles for brains right now, time for a coffee i suspect.
I'm going to see the X-Files at the Laurelhurst tonight. I love a theater that serves
good beer and pizza and is only $3. I love you Laurelhurst Theater, truly.

thrift store finds and beardy fellows

I scored a couple great fabrics at my favorite thrift store today, when
this happens I leave with a high of creativity and i'm planning
it's fate on the way home. This place is not for the faint of
heart though, it's a serious place with serious people that are
serious about their finds. Don't you hate when you make the
mistake of glancing in someone's basket and you see an item
you'd give a limb for? Ugh, that happened to me today, this
girl had the best, I mean absolute best piece of Scandinavian
design fabric that was gorgeous. Would have made a great
table runner for my kitchen table. Darn.

I'm making my first beardy fellow pillow. This is Sven & Jack.
Not completely done yet, they're missing something and I can't
quite put my finger on it. I'll get them up in the shop this weekend
hopefully if the finishing touches come together.
Gonna make some TBLT's for dinner tonight and watch a movie
with my sweetie. (That Turkey BLT's if you didn't know:)

TO DO for today

My To Do List:
*fabric store for supplies
*michaels
*remember the good idea i had before falling asleep
and was too lazy to get up and write it down, pinching myself now.
*desk calendar- so my self imposed deadlines can stare me down in plain sight.
*plant the seedlings that have found a semi-permanent home on the kitchen sill
*send thank you cards to rightful people.
*take photos of band shirts and get them up.
*get physical cd's up for sale somewhere and announce on myspace
*record and write this EP, which i sat down at the piano yesterday
and wrote a bit of a song that actually made me cry, i can't sing all choked up, so back
to sewing it was.
*decide and figure out cd artwork
*work on wedding invitations, that deadline is in stone and will creep up on me i just know it
*grocery shop
*wash the car
*practice - gig next week in Seattle

tiny houses

This afternoon I had a fun time making an art pillow with
5 tiny houses on the front...I could live in these little patchwork
palaces.

In the morning i'll get this beauty listed in the shop
after a few cups of coffee and perhaps some exercise. For as
motivated as I am about certain things, it definitely swings the
other way for others. The guilt is crippling. Ick.
Anywho, time to get to bed with my book, i'm reading The Hundred
Secret Senses
right now.

sophie & lyla, coffee and fabric

Well, i've been a productive bunny in my crafting lately and loving it.
I'm excited about my new projects and the ones bubbling in my head.
Yesterday i made these two fun pillows Lyla and Sophie. They are the first
in my Lollipop Flower Series. They are up in the shop as of now.

This is before the final construction, I find it hard to take photos while i'm working, mainly because it doesn't cross my mind till i'm finished.
I'm thinking about my next project, which I hope to incorporate some beards into the mix.
Time for a cup of coffee and a good dose of inspiration from the new vintage fabric I scored yesterday.
