Write Every Day, a new illustration for inspiration

Great advice, right? I'm trying to do a drawing each day (I'll share the better ones), seems a no brainer since that's what I do, but I get so caught up in all the other details and with Ye Old Computer that I tend to lose sight of that. Being a small business entrepreneur, I definitely get sucked into the business side a wee more than I prefer. Finding that balance where art supports the business and business supports the art I am searching for it. Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, time for some wine and television to balance my day out:)

craftyFOLK in the new issue of frankie Magazine!

frankie Magazine
Yep, yours truly! They've featured my illustrated Camera Cameo which is choose your color (fancy!). I've kept my lips zipped so I wouldn't jinx anything until I saw it for real in the flesh. Well, a digital version in the flesh is good for me until I get my little fists on the paper verison. frankie magazine is out of Australia, they cover everything worth covering, design, fashion, photography, music, craft, general goodness and I've been a fan for a long time. I've always wanted my band to be featured in their music section (next record perhaps), so it's quite a nice surprise to get in through the craftyFOLK route.
It's September/October 2009 issue 31 if you happen to pick one up or get a digital copy.

Needless to say, I'm quite pleased with myself and I'm going to tackle some of those crafty To Do's that have been swimming in my head for a few months. I'm really looking to expand my offerings in the shop, so working on adrenaline can be very helpful.

Signing off, time for an afternoon cup of something...

Choose Your Color, Made To Order Cameos

I've added some made to order resin cameos to the shop for a special price of $25 each. Sewing machine, yarn and knitting needles, camera and bicycles are the choices, though if I can draw it, I'll take custom orders. Not sure how long I'll offer them, I've moved away from working with the resin a bit, but we shall see. I definitely need an awesome respirator if I'm going to offer more and more resin items. (Mom, if you're reading this, I'd like a respirator for Christmas. Also a gift certificate to Spoonflower.)
Speaking of holidays, I have so many plans for fancy holiday items that I can't get them wrangled into tangible items quite yet. Definitely some card sets and ornaments. I'm working on calendar ideas too. Can't we add an extra day to the week? I'd like an extra day between Sunday and Monday, it could be named Bunday and we'd eat buns and do all our creative projects.

A sneak peek at the new family business

I married a technology minded fellow.
He married an illustrator.
We've decided to be complete hermits and start a web design company together.

Good Design + Good Code = Good Times
